Climate change has made summers getting excruciatingly hot all through the world; as global average temperatures have been increasing steadily in the last 150 years. As individuals is an initiative we can take to help our planet and ourselves during these summers and that is to start investing wisely. The key to summer clothing as I have always seen it is to always be wearing light, airy, durable and earth-friendly fabrics with breathable silhouettes to stay cool and happy during the sweltering heat!
It’s been over a year now that I’ve switched to ethical beauty and fashion, and although the transformation has been slow, I now love the feel of my clothes and skincare more than ever. The world is definitely more aware of sustainable living with swap parties being held, second-hand street fairs and a new niche of luxury sustainable boutiques seem to have appeared all over.

A 2010 study, published in the scientific journal Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, used linguistic analysis software to measure the way 60 individuals discussed their homes. Women who described their living spaces as ‘cluttered’ or full of ‘unfinished projects’ were more likely to be depressed and fatigued than the women who described their homes as ‘restful’ and ‘restorative’. The researchers also found that women with cluttered homes expressed higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
