For many, summer is the season of fun especially when it comes to everyday dressing, which certainly includes the ultimate wardrobe staple – the dress. However, that is also a day-to-night year-round essential we need for so many occasions, which makes it reasonable to spend a bit more time and money to find the right one.

A 2010 study, published in the scientific journal Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, used linguistic analysis software to measure the way 60 individuals discussed their homes. Women who described their living spaces as ‘cluttered’ or full of ‘unfinished projects’ were more likely to be depressed and fatigued than the women who described their homes as ‘restful’ and ‘restorative’. The researchers also found that women with cluttered homes expressed higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

Getting married is always an adventure, I have always been on the other side of it, making custom made wedding outfits for brides, but somehow for my own wedding things went the other way, and I found it really difficult to find elements to have a SUSTAINABLE and SLOW wedding! I decided to take a plunge into researching on how to have a sustainable wedding. There are so many things to take into consideration from non-toxic makeup and hair products to sustainable clothing! I blog about a lot of ethical brands and a couple of these just stood out for and are perfect for those sourcing for an ethical wedding for the bride, brides maid or even a wedding guest.
Approximately four years ago I was introduced to a practice called Nichiren Buddhism, wherein all the members pray for world peace. This practice works on the law of cause and effect –i.e. what you give, you get and what you sow, you reap! It included a lot of self-reflection and expressed that the only change one has to make, is to change you. Even though these changes were all very positive, it was difficult especially when I had to go out of my comfort zone.
